Diwali

The festival of lights and happiness was celebrated at CIRS on 20 October with great devotion and joy. The auspicious day began with the divine blessings of Krishna Pooja in the morning, setting a serene and spiritual tone for the celebrations. The divinity of the omnipresent was felt throughout the day as students immersed themselves in the festivities. A vibrant carnival organised by the Spiritual Department added energy and enthusiasm, offering students a joyful and memorable experience.

The most awaited moment of the celebration was the Lakshmi Pooja, followed by the bursting of crackers, symbolising prosperity, hope, and new beginnings. As the campus lit up with sparkling lights, CIRS resonated with joy and festivity. The celebrations continued the following day with Bhai Dooj, during which sisters organised a special programme for their brothers, strengthening bonds of love and togetherness. Together, these celebrations beautifully reflected the true essence of the festival.

Children’s Day

Children’s Day, the most eagerly awaited celebration at CIRS, was marked with great joy and excitement. The teachers organised a special programme to delight and entertain our little champs, thoughtfully planned to meet their expectations. The stage came alive as the teachers of CIRS dazzled the audience with lively performances, including dances, songs, and a vibrant fashion show. The skit ‘Time Travel’ became a major hit. A special dinner made the celebration truly memorable. The children were overjoyed by the performances, carrying back smiles and cherished memories.

Masquerade

November 23 to 26 saw the vibrant energy of students come alive as they illuminated Vraja, transforming it into a magical theatre. From brainstorming ideas and scripting scenes to designing costumes, backdrops, and stage settings, students took charge of every detail, culminating in a captivating one-hour masquerade that showcased their creativity, collaboration, and passion for theatre.

Pongal

CIRS radiated festive cheer on 15 January 2026, as the school came together to celebrate the harvest festival of Pongal with great enthusiasm and cultural fervour. On the eve of the festival, students from Shishu Vatika to Grade XII showcased their creativity by painting traditional Pongal pots, reflecting the spirit and significance of the festival. On the day of Pongal, the campus came alive with colour and joy as students decorated their allotted spaces with intricate rangoli designs. Dressed in traditional attire, they participated in the Pongal pooja and the ceremonial preparation of Pongal. The celebration reached a meaningful culmination with offerings made to the Sun God, followed by captivating cultural presentations that highlighted the values and importance of the festival.

Extending the joy of the season, the Junior School visited Chinmaya Ashram the following day to take part in the Mattu Pongal celebrations. The children were introduced to the essence of the day and joyfully engaged in feeding cows and calves, an experience that nurtured in them a sense of gratitude and compassion towards nature.

Republic Day

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotism and discipline at CIRS on January 26, 2026. The celebration began with the Principal hoisting the National Flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and an impressive march past by the students. Smt. Shanti Krishnamurthy, Director, Academics and Administration, inspired everyone with her message on selfless service and the importance of staying rooted in our cultural values while nurturing patriotism. Sri. Sripal from the Department of Hindi also addressed the gathering, highlighting responsibility and unity as the pillars of nation-building. The celebrations concluded with a special evening aarti followed by a cultural presentation in Vraja Auditorium.
